Design Portfolio

The Learning Hub is an incredible opportunity to connect country offices together in the spirit of innovation - and it will take a seasoned expert in the fields of design, learning sciences, and adult learning and facilitation. I’m excited to share my portfolio with you and how it connects to the Learning Hub’s vision.

Design and Delivery of Learning Innovation Camp

I have designed, implemented, led, and debriefed 39 Google Certified Innovator Academies (3-day events hosted at the Google office with an agenda of networking, team-building, and undergoing an intense design sprint for new solutions to education problems) in 8 different countries. I trained directly with the world-famous IDEO and partnered with their designers to create the Educator’s Design Thinking Guide. I managed and mentored vendor companies in 4 different countries to translate and trained them on the design thinking process to build capacity in each of those countries, and they now run them on their own. I also co-created the Energiser program (now the Google Champions and Symposium program). Our evaluations for this program consistently were over 95% satisfaction and transfer of knowledge.

Human-centered design research guide and site visits

My training and work with IDEO has been rooted in human—centered design and capacity-building in this area.

I worked with the Asian Development Bank on a landscape analysis of eLearning throughout the university system of Laos, which involved similar steps to your Pioneer CO analyses. I performed an interview of over 40 different stakeholders from MOE to ADB and professors, students, and IT staff from the three largest universities in Laos.

For OOI, I performed a 10-country design intake process for the AI Learning Toolkit prototype, doing initial discovery and aggregation towards a proposal, and further went down the design cycle with them, hosting user experience testing with our prototypes and designing pilots. I look forward to bringing my supreme organization, communication and interviewing skills, and adeptness at building CO-level relationships to the desk review process.

Design and Deliver Architects of the Future Workshops

Board Member and Facilitator at IATED (International Academy of Technology, Education, and Development) and have hosted 24 different workshops throughout Spain on a variety of innovative topics, including Design Sprint Workshop, AI and VR in Teaching and Learning, Video Creation for Educators, and more. I also consult for the organization, helping them bring innovations to the conference, such as a wellness retreat before the day starts, networking contests, photo walks, and more to help make the conference series fresh each year.

I also co-designed the Dynamic Learning Project, a year-long mentoring and training initiative with Google.org and Digital Promise, which now is the successful Google Certified Coach program.

Support Learning Innovation Hub Team in summarizing Desk Research

I am an expert in making the complex understandable, particular when it comes to data, and have worked with Tableau and other visualization software to unlock ideas for all neurotypes. I love creating community as well so will plan on leading webinars summarizing the research and think of innovative ways to share them across OOI and UNICEF for inspiration.

Lead building up a design team and onboarding

I have built a team of coaches before, which includes creating community and programming. Specifically, I helped choose, train and evaluate Google Mentors who traveled with us to provide design thinking support to educators undergoing the Innovator Academies. I am a human-centered leader and it’s important for me to honor the needs, skills, and abilities of each individual on my team and help them level up.

I have a strong background in human performance technology, electronic performance support systems, and knowledge management to create unique and organized onboarding materials and experiences.

Design and Deliver HCD Train the Trainer

I look forward to building capacity within OOI - I have run Train the Trainers on a variety of topics, from Google Design Thinking to working with the Girls Education Challenge in Africa where I trained monitoring and evaluation local research companies how to use a specific early grades reading assessment methodology in 9 different countries and three different languages.

I also am constantly learning new strategies myself, such as AI, VR and AR, and bringing these learning back to colleagues.

Empowering those in education to change the world, one workshop, community, and event at a time.
